Why SilPoly?
SilPoly aka Silicon Impregnated Polyester
The answer is for its superior water resistance and sag prevention. For a long time “the go to” material for lightweight camping gear has been nylon but over the past few years lightweight ripstop polyesters have proven to have equal weight to strength ratios, with many other added benefits such as zero water absorption. Water absorption in nylon makes the material sag requiring you to constantly adjust your guyline tension, it also requires much more time to dry out after a rain event. Polyester fabric is the modern choice, and another bonus is it is more eco friendly due to its use of recycled products and its recyclability.
Corners
All Bache tarps are equipped with a minimum of 16 guyout points. To prevent tear outs in high winds the 6 main guyouts are strengthened with dyneema reinforced gridstop and the loops are made from rubberized hypalon.
Stainless Steel Ring
These loops are equipped with a stainless steel ring that allows the tarp to be set up using traditional methods or you can quickly snap on the hooked line locks for a knotless setup.
Keeping Things Tidy
All four corners also feature a small pocket to stow guylines or guyline tails!
Setting up a tarp at camp is so much more than just shelter.
